Corporate Governance

The application of corporate governance rules at UCB are in line with the recommendations of the Belgian Code on Corporate Governance which came into effect as of 1 January 2005, and is to be fully implemented for the purposes of communication in 2006. UCB stands by the principles of this Code, which are often similar to those found in other codes, particularly in Anglo-Saxon countries.

During 2007 the UCB Board of Directors will pay particular attention to determining possible additional measures to be adopted within the framework of the Code's recommendations, in accordance with the "comply or explain" principle.
