UCB is developing innovative computational techniques to accelerate drug discovery and design. This role will involve applying communications theories to biological systems, and delivering novel approaches to rational drug design. The individual will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in a collaborative, open-minded and innovative environment.
The position requires a PhD level degree in the field of electrical and computer engineering or telecommunications engineering with innovative scientific accomplishment demonstrated by a solid record of publications.
The candidate should possess a strong theoretical background in communications, signal processing, information theory or related disciplines. Proficiency in mathematical modeling is essential. Excellent programming skills (Matlab, C/C++, Java or Python) are preferred.
The applicant is required to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, competence in the English language and a strong motivation to contribute to improving the lives of patients through the creation of breakthrough medicines.
This position is based in Slough, UK. Positions are available for a period of 36 months with a starting date during 2012.
